BoeungKak Post reports that on the night of December 19, 2025, the Thai military conducted a series of deliberate airstrikes using F-16 fighter jets against O Jik Bridge, a civilian infrastructure site located in Srei Snam District, Siem Reap Province, near the border with Chong Kal District, Oddar Meanchey Province, deep inside Cambodian sovereign territory.
Timeline of the Airstrikes
• 10:55 p.m. – First F-16 airstrike; one bomb dropped
• 11:00 p.m. – Second F-16 airstrike; one bomb dropped
• 11:10 p.m. – Third F-16 airstrike; one bomb dropped
This attack marks the second time O Jik Bridge has been targeted, following an earlier F-16 airstrike on December 15, 2025.
According to BoeungKak Post, the bridge serves no military function and is a vital civilian structure located near displaced civilian camps and essential infrastructure. The repeated targeting of this site constitutes a reckless and indiscriminate assault on civilian objects.
These actions represent a grave violation of International Humanitarian Law, particularly the principle of distinction, which obligates parties to an armed conflict to distinguish at all times between military objectives and civilians or civilian infrastructure.
BoeungKak Post emphasizes that the strikes occurred well within Cambodian territory and raise serious concerns regarding sovereignty violations, civilian protection, and accountability under international law.
