CAMBODIA TELLS U.N.: “SILENCE ON THAILAND’S ACTION RISKS NORMALIZING AGGRESSION”
December 17, 2025 — Cambodia tells the U.N. Security Council that international silence on Thailand’s military aggression risks normalizing acts of aggression and undermining multilateralism.
Ambassador Keo Chhea, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the U.N., said Thailand’s intensified shelling and airstrikes, reaching up to 90 kilometers into Cambodian civilian zones, constitute a clear act of aggression and are not a mere border dispute or an act of self-defense.
Cambodia called on the U.N. Security Council and the international community to uphold the U.N. Charter and take action to prevent further escalation.
