China Announces Humanitarian Support of 20 Million Yuan to Cambodia.

Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping has pledged humanitarian assistance of 20 million yuan (approximately US$2.8 million) to help repair damage and ease the suffering of people affected by the armed conflict in late July.
The announcement was made during a bilateral meeting between the Chinese President and Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in Tianjin, China, on Aug. 30, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Plus 2025 Summit, according to H.E. Meas Sophorn, Secretary of State at the Office of the Council of Ministers and Spokesperson for the Prime Minister, following the Cambodian Premier’s return last night.
H.E. Meas Sophorn added that President Xi Jinping also reaffirmed China’s support for the ceasefire between the Cambodian and Thai armed forces, as well as the ASEAN ceasefire observation mechanism led by Malaysia. He further expressed hope for the early establishment of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT).
Moreover, the Chinese President pledged continued support to Cambodia in enhancing self-reliance and development capacity, while safeguarding its national sovereignty.
