Cultural Youth Delegates from Three Countries Conduct Field Study at Angkor Archaeological Park

AKP Siem Reap, February 14, 2025 —

A group of 30 young cultural delegates from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam participated in a hands-on field study at key heritage sites within the Angkor Archaeological Park.

This visit followed a four-day seminar on the “Cultural Youth Exchange Programme on World Heritage Management and Community Development.”

During their field study, the delegates explored significant heritage locations, including Angkor Wat, Phnom Bakheng, Neak Poan, the Preah Norodom Sihanouk-Angkor Museum, and Banteay Srei Temple.

The 10-day seminar, running from Feb. 10 to 19, 2025, is a collaboration between the Apsara National Authority and the Mekong-Lancang Special Cooperation Fund.

Hosted at the Apsara National Authority’s conference hall in Siem Reap, the programme includes both theoretical discussions and practical site visits to conservation areas such as Angkor, Sambor Prei Kuk, and Koh Ker.

Experts from Laos and Vietnam also shared their experiences in heritage site management and community development, contributing to a broader regional exchange of knowledge.

The Angkor site, known as a “living heritage”, continues to thrive as a cultural and historical landmark, with both tangible and intangible heritage deeply embedded in the local community.
