DPM Hang Chuon Naron Leads Cambodian Education Delegation on Study Visit to Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore

As part of the Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship Programme, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, led a Cambodian delegation on a study visit to Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) in Singapore on April 22.

During the visit, the delegation was warmly welcomed by representatives of Nanyang Polytechnic, including Mr. Ravinder Singh, Chairman of the NYP Board of Governors; Mr. Russell Chan, Principal and Chief Executive Officer of NYP; Ms. Esther Ho, Deputy Principal for Lifelong Learning & Enterprise Services; Dr. Phua Chee Teck, Deputy Principal for Sustainability and Technology; Mr. Chai Kuek Heng, Director of the Centre for Student Support and International Relations; and Ms. Esther Bay, Director of International Relations.

The study visit aimed to provide insights into NYP’s educational infrastructure, management systems, and diverse academic programmes. The Cambodian delegation had the opportunity to observe real-world applications and engage in discussions focused on Singapore’s model of multi-disciplinary and technical education.

Both parties explored the potential and applicability of such educational frameworks and mechanisms for Cambodia’s ongoing education reform efforts. The visit highlighted opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange to enhance Cambodia’s education sector.

On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed his deep appreciation to the Government of Singapore, Nanyang Polytechnic, and all relevant stakeholders for organising such a meaningful and well-prepared study visit. 

He praised the valuable knowledge and new experiences gained from the visit—particularly the integration of technology in education—which he noted will be instrumental for the Cambodian team in supporting the nation’s mission to further develop and modernise its education system.
