New Viewing Platform at Angkor Wat's Southern Pond Enhances Tourist Experience

AKP Phnom Penh, January 24, 2025 --

The APSARA National Authority has officially launched a new viewing platform at Angkor Wat's Southern Pond, designed to provide tourists with stunning photo opportunities against the backdrop of the iconic Angkor Wat Temple.

According to the authority’s news release on Jan. 23, this initiative has received positive feedback from both tour guides and visitors.

Mr. Ya Nop, an English-speaking tour guide, expressed his enthusiasm for the new arrangement, stating, "This platform is excellent for helping tourists capture beautiful photos at Angkor Wat's Southern Pond. It will undoubtedly attract more national and international visitors to Angkor Wat."

The newly constructed viewing platform measures 6 metres by 12 metres and was developed in collaboration with the Korea Heritage Agency (KHA). Previously, during the rainy season, the pond would overflow, making it challenging to take picturesque photos.

The new platform aims to alleviate this issue, offering a stable and scenic spot for photography.
