Oddar Meanchey governor leads AOT team to inspect violations in O’Smach area.

Oddar Meanchey governor Mean Chanyada led a provincial working group and a team from the ASEAN Observer team (AOT) to inspect damage in the O’Smach area following reported violations by Thai military forces.

According to a statement by the governor, the inspection took place his morning, January 8, at the O’Smach International Border Crossing in O’Smach commune, Samrong town.

The visit aimed to assess the impact of what officials described as “serious violations” by the Thai side.

Chanyada said the Thai military had fired heavy weapons and artillery into Cambodian territory, causing extensive damage to public infrastructure, as well as the homes and property of local residents.
