Ruling Parties of Cambodia, Lao PDR Foster Cooperation Amid Global Uncertainty

Top leaders of the ruling parties of Cambodia and the Lao People's Democratic Republic have co-chaired the 15th summit of the parties and the signing of cooperation deals amid uncertain global geopolitical tension.


President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, who is serving as President of the Cambodian Senate, and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith presided over the events on Feb. 7 in Vientiane, Lao PDR.


During the parties' summit, the two leaders exchanged appreciation of their blossoming relationship as well as mutual support and trust.


Samdech Techo Hun Sen encouraged regular meetings of the parties' officials at different levels to exchange updates and address common challenges.


The leaders also chaired the signing of memorandums of understanding between the partiers’ External Relations Committees and between the CPP Central Youth and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union to guide deeper cooperation.


The move was seen as important to security, social order, stability, and growth in the two neighbouring countries amid the unpredictable change of the global geopolitical context.

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen led a senior delegation for an official visit to Lao PDR on Feb.6-7.
