Samdech Techo Hun Sen: Donald Trump’s Ceasefire Initiative Saved Tens of Thousands of Lives from Cambodia–Thailand War

(Phnom Penh): Shortly after the ceasefire took effect, at around 1:30 a.m., Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate, expressed heartfelt gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for his visionary initiative, which brought an end to the Cambodia–Thailand conflict and saved countless lives.

Samdech Techo wrote on his social media on Tuesday (Jul. 29) as follows:

“The achievement of the remarkable initiative by His Excellency Donald Trump has saved the lives of tens of thousands of people from the Cambodia–Thailand war.

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to His Excellency President Donald Trump for his visionary initiative in creating a ceasefire and peace between Cambodia and Thailand. This initiative is a tremendous achievement that has helped save countless lives in both Cambodia and Thailand. I would also like to thank His Excellency Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who helped organize the meeting venue and facilitated this ceasefire agreement. This ceasefire and peace agreement is yielding positive and effective results.

I would also like to express my gratitude to our Chinese friends for their support, as well as to all friendly nations that have endorsed this ceasefire agreement.
