Techo International Airport Plans to Conduct Test Flights with Additional Airlines in Early September

(Phnom Penh): Following the successful completion of its first test flight with an Airbus A320 aircraft operated by the national airline Air Cambodia, Techo International Airport (KTI) is planning additional trial flights with other airlines in early September.


On 15 August 2025, an Airbus A320 aircraft of national airline Air Cambodia departed from Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) and landed smoothly on the 4-kilometer runway of Techo International Airport (KTI).


The test flight achieved successful results in both technical and flight operations, in line with the planned procedures, marking an important step in preparing the airport for its official launch in the near future.


Additional test flights with various airlines are scheduled for early September as part of continued trial operations, ensuring that Techo International Airport (KTI) is ready to welcome passengers both domestic and international passengers smoothly.


It should be noted that Techo International Airport (KTI) will begin operations on 9 September 2025. The official inauguration ceremony is planned for 20 October 2025 under the presidency of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.


Techo International Airport (KTI), constructed on a total land area of 2,600 hectares, is located 19 kilometres from Phnom Penh. Classified as a 4F airport, it is being developed in three phases. The investment budget for Phase 1 amounts to USD 1.5 billion, excluding airport land acquisition costs.


As a 4F category airport, Techo International Airport (KTI) is a large-scale facility capable of handling long-haul intercontinental flights, accommodating wide-body aircraft up to Airbus A380-800 and Boeing 747-800.
