Thai Soldiers Fence Off Cambodian Homes Near Border, Blocking Residents’ Access

A plot of land and home where she had lived for many years has now been cordoned off by Thai soldiers, fenced with barbed wire to prevent entry. Mrs. Neang Choeun, an elderly woman with a leg disability, could only sit on her wooden platform, gazing at her house with deep sorrow and profound pain.

Mrs. Choeun’s house is located in Prey Chan Village, O’Bei Chon Commune, O’Chrou District, Banteay Meanchey Province. In this village, three Cambodian households have been encircled with barbed wire by Thai soldiers since August 14.
