The Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) will hold a press conference on August 18 at 10am at its headquarters in Phnom Penh.
The conference will reveal to the public Thailand's ‘baseless’ accusations against Cambodia regarding the alleged use of new landmines and reaffirm Cambodia's commitment as a State Party to the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (Ottawa Convention).
"Its purpose is to provide accurate information and clarify Cambodia's stance in response to Thailand's repeated false allegations of new mine planting, which are claimed to violate the Ottawa Convention," the CMAA stated in a press release today.
