Visitor Numbers Rise at Angkor Despite Border Tensions

AKP Phnom Penh, August 19, 2025 --

The APSARA National Authority (ANA) has reported a continued increase in both domestic and international visitors to the Angkor Archaeological Park, despite the ongoing border tensions between Cambodia and Thailand.

Speaking on Aug. 19, ANA Deputy Director-General and Spokesperson Mr. Long Kosal highlighted the encouraging trend, noting that the Angkor Archaeological Park, which is located in Siem Reap province, is geographically distant from the affected border areas.

Visitors are aware of the situation along the border, but they remain confident in Cambodia’s security and safety measures, he added.

He reaffirmed the Royal Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of all tourists as well as the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

The efforts will restore peace along the border in the near future.
