CAMBODIA MARKS "MEAK BOCHEA DAY" NATIONWIDE

February 2, 2026 – Today, Cambodia observes Meak Bochea Day, a significant festival for Buddhists, with citizens, monks, leaders, teachers, and students gathering at pagodas across the country. The observance is marked by offerings of flowers, candles, and Dhamma chanting. It commemorates the Buddha’s establishment of Buddhism in India in 588 B.C., exactly nine months after his enlightenment. Buddhists gathered to offer food, drinks, and other offerings in prayer for blessings on this important day.
